Is it safe to do a bike tour in Lima?

Yes, we have designed each tour thinking in your safety; mostly we will ride in bikeways, peaceful streets and low traffic. Prior to the tour, our guides will give you a brief explanation and recommendations to make your ride safer so you can fully enjoy it; you only require to be able to ride a bicycle in the city. Also, all our customers are covered by a minor accidents insurance policy.

Do I have to wear a helmet?

Yes. Your safety is top priority for us and studies have shown that helmets can reduce head injuries in at least 85%. Therefore, we do require all riders to wear helmets on our tours.

Can children participate in the tour?

Yes, of course! Our goal is that the whole family can enjoy the tour, so we have special equipments starting from one-year-old toddler (see options for children).

  • Kids from 1 to 4 years old (with a maximum weight of 17 kilos) can join the tour at no cost. We have baby seats, installed at the rear of the bikes (see options for children). When making your reservation, request the baby seats in the additional information option.
  • We have special bike trailers for kids from 5 to 11 years old (with a maximum weight of 40 kilos) (see options for children). Regular fare. Please contact us at info@limabikeguide.com before making your reservation to confirm kid trailers availability.
  • Children 12 years or older may use the bikes, as long as they are skilled to ride them across the city. Regular fare.

Can I participate in the tour if I am pregnant?

For both your and your baby’s safety, we recommend not to participate in the tour while pregnant, since during the first trimester of pregnancy it is recommended to avoid exhausting efforts; and, in the second and third trimesters, the volume of the belly can affect your balance. Also, it is recommended to avoid repeated impacts, since during the tour we can find bumpy areas.
